Siberian Ginseng (Eleuthero-coccus senticosus) is one of the world's favorite and time-honored herbs. It is a thorny shrub, commonly attaining a height of 6-9 feet, found in forests of broad-leaf trees. The plant produces both male and female forms; black, oval berries, and a woody root. It is from the root that the health benefits of Siberian Ginseng are derived. Often referred to as a cousin of Oriental and American Ginseng, Siberian Ginseng possesses many of the same properties. The best way to make a good tasting cup of tea is by the infusion method. Place one tea bag into cup and add no more than 6 oz. of boiling water. Let steep for 3 minutes and remove the bag. Press the bag before removing to enhance the flavor. Add honey to sweeten.
