I am almost 40 years old at the time of this writing. When I was a child, my mother would use pure Camphor (obtained from the wood and bark of the Camphor Tree) for a variety medicinal purposes instead of prescriptions or over-the-counter pharmaceuticals. The use of Camphor was one of many natural remedies that she had learned from her mother, and so on. For instance, rub a small dab of Camphor on your forehead to relieve headaches or use on your nostrils to open nasal passages for relieving sinuses. Because my mother and grandmother have both passed away, this unique knowledge has also been lost. I know that Camphor is used in Vicks Vaporub, for instance, but the company puts the emphasis on the Eucalyptus and the Menthol ingredients while ignoring the Camphor ingredient. (I also remember injesting a very small drop of Camphor, but I don't remember the reason for this, maybe to relieve a sore throat.) Anyway, the point of this review is to share with everyone about the disservice of the pharmaceutical industry as opposed to the natural remedy market. Knowledge of health has been lost as well as the loss of real natural solutions which has been replaced by profits for pharmaceuticals and your complete dependence on drugs. Camphor is a wonderful product and very inexpensive (until it becomes popular again), compared to many over-the-counter solutions. Only a small drop is needed per use and from my experience, NOW Foods is a surprisingly ethical company that cares about the smallest detail of every ingredient of their products. Have a Good Life!
