During the digestive process, pancreatic lipase enzymes adhere to the oils to liberate fatty acids. This stage of digestion prepares fatty acids for absorption. Ethyl Ester forms of Omega-3 fish oils are 10 to 50 times more resistant than natural triglycerides. The primary protective components of fish oil are two long chain, highly polyunsaturated fatty acids called Eicosapentaenoic acid [EPA] and Docosahexaenoic acid [DHA].
