Sorbitol, originally derived from the mountain sorberry, is a naturally occurring sweetener found primarily in fruits and berries. This product is manufactured from glucose, but is only 50-75% as sweet as regular sugar. Because it is absorbed and metabolized slowly, sorbitol has little effect on blood sugar levels. this product therefore may be useful in replacing regular sugar in recipes for High blood sugar diets. use in making jams, canned fruits, and homemade candies, etc.

Tasts good is less sweet then sugar a good substitute but for the sugar addicts out there can negate the health benifits from this product. Consuming more then 20g or 4 1/2 teaspoons per day can cause diarrhoea and harmful not healthy weight loss.
