St. John’s Wort contains flavonoids (quercetin), tannins (catechin) and phenolics (caffeic acid) all of which contribute to its beneficial actions and are water-soluble and therefore released into the tea. Good Mood includes several other flavonoid-containing herbs traditionally included in mood formulas including lavender flower, lemon balm leaf, licorice root and sage leaf.
