Valerian root has been the primary herb of choice for supporting a restful sleep, recent clinical studies substantiate valerian's ability to improve sleep quality.Valerian is one of the world's oldest phytonutrients. Long known for its relaxing properties Modern research has confirmed this traditional use, and has identified valerenic acid, a component of the essential oil, as primarily responsible for its relaxing effects.
Unlike conventional sleep medicines, valerian is not taken for immediate sleep. Studies show valerian is most effective when taken over a course of several weeks to regulate the sleep cycle.In this way, the body can naturally adjust to falling asleep on a regular schedule.

To assure optimal extraction of Valerian's bioactive compounds, the rhizome & roots are hand-harvested in late autumn or early spring and are then taken directly to our laboratory and promptly extracted while still fresh and succulent. |
