| I purchased this based on the other review and was very pleased with the taste and texture. I used it in cooking and find the coconut flavor very pleasant. Even good right off the spoon. I have used this oil for several months and am pleased with taste and value. I have not tried the more expensive oils but find this product works well for me. I wanted to try coconut oil after reading Bruce Fife's book called Coconut oil miracle. Will order again. |

Very Nice Suprise :),

| I was just introduced to Virgin Coconut Oil 3 weeks ago after going to an Integrative Medicine Doctor. My first jar was a brand that is made in the Philippines using traditional methods, which was lovely and tasted great, but the $18 a jar wasn't something I thought I would stick with. I bought another brand in a local store while I waiting for the shipment of NOW fom here (I had run out of the other stuff and began feeling sloggy again). The brand I got at the local store (also virgin, organic, and unrefined) smelled sour in comparison to the expensive traditional brand. I felt okay with it, but it wasn't as nice to put into my coffee. I held my breath to see if NOW would fair any better in comparison. I'm happy to report that the NOW Virgin Organic Coconut Oil is a very close match to the more expensive variety... has a very nice taste that I can scoop into my coffee or tea and it baked very nicely as well. I'm very relieved. I've been feeling great the last 3 weeks using coconut oil to help with insulin resistance, low blood sugar, and weight. I've lost 5lbs (I've also been on a low carb diet)... and don't need to take naps during the day. BIG DIFFERENCE for me. My diabetic brother tried some and an hour later his blood sugar lowered closer to normal. I took some at the same time and my blood surgar went higher. We were on opposite sides of the blood sugar spectrum with the result of taking coconut oil bringing us both closer to normal. Anyway, I'm not sure what's up with this stuff... but it's great. Now that I can order it directly and affordably, this is definitely going to be a new and pleasant dietary change in my life. I've been smearing it on my skin too.. great moisturizer. |
