| My 4 children have grown up with this syrup, some like the strong taste, some don't. What counts is that it really knocks the cough out of them faster than anything else. The key with any natural formula is to nip it right in the bud before it turns into a serious cough. The alcohol base helps them to sleep through the night too. However, if the alcohol is a concern, I've been told that it can be disippated by pouring the dosage into a small cup of warm water. | My two year old daughter got a bladder infection just a week after she started using the big potty. Even though I wasn't alarmed by it, my pediatrician recommended some ridiculous protocol with invasive procedures to shoot a dye into her urinary tract to track any possible defects/problems. They said they treated urinary tract infections in toddlers very aggressively because of the long term problems that they could cause.
