Stevia is a perennial shrub, which grows up to 1 m tall and has 2-3 cm long leaves. It is found in Central and Southern America, Argentina, Mexico and is grown commercially in Brazil, Uruguay, Israel, Thailand, China, Paraguay. The medicinal parts are the leaves, which possess hypoglycemic and antifungal properties.
